Mexico Missions

FBC Bangs participates with the Heart of Texas Mission Association and Bro. Jose M. with Mexico missions all through the year.

We collect clothes, coats, shoes, medical equipment and much more during the year. Regular trips are made to Mexico with these supplies. People are always needed to help with loading, unloading, collections, driving, promotion and ministering to the people.

We also collect toys and gifts for children just before Christmas. This is a major undertaking and all members are encouraged to participate.  Below are some of the happy faces of children who have benefitted from the Christmas gift project!

Why?

Why do Missions? ....

To be obedient to God’s calling, and to go where He sends us.  Exodus 24:7 - "All that the Lord has spoken we will do; we will be obedient"

"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'   Matthew 22: 36-39

Jesus told his followers: "A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" (John 13:34-35.)

No matter how far or how difficult the calling, we will answer and we will go.   And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20)

Blu and Darbi Tidwell both grew up in Texas and were married in 2001. Upon Blu’s graduation from Texas A&M in 2003, they served with the International Mission Board in Zambia, Africa. There, they worked with teenagers and children in the schools as they taught the True Love Waits program. It was then that God began to lay on Blu and Darbi’s hearts a love for orphans and a desire to teach them God’s Word while helping them rise above their seemingly hopeless living situations They returned to the States in 2005 with their firstborn son, Caedmon, who was born in Africa. Blu completed his Master of Divinity Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary while serving as youth pastor in Alvarado, Texas. Cambree joined the family in 2006, and Baby Cason arrived in 2008. The Tidwells returned “home” to Zambia in January of 2010.
